HowTo Use Our Game Server: Kahn and Quake2
What is Kahn?
Kahn is a system by which you may organize and play networkable games with other users over the Internet. The Kahn server provides a place where people "meet" and organize an interactive game. To connect to a Kahn server you need to be on the Internet and you need to run the Kahn program. Once connected, you set your game to host others. When other players connect to the Kahn server, they will see that you are hosting a game and they can simply join in.
What games can be played?
Almost any Windows 95 game that is capable of multiple play over a network will work with Kahn. The list of known games that work with Kahn is rather extensive and can be seen by clicking here
How do I get Kahn?
We provide a shareware version of Kahn client to install on your computer. To download the file, click here. If you like Kahn, you will need to register it to keep it working. The price is not bad ($15.00). We have no control over your registration. To read more about registering Kahn, click here.
Ok, Ive installed Kahn, how do I connect to our server?
Who can I play?
This is a private "Intranet" server. We have blocked out the "bullies" with a T-1 or even T-3 connection. This keeps the playing field level. In short, you can play other users who are in our community.
Quake2 Server
What is Quake2?
Quake2 is a futuristic "shoot em up" game that can be played over a network with others. In order to play Quake2 you must have the retail version installed and you must install an upgrade that we will provide.
You mean I have to have a certain version?
Im afraid so. But we have made upgrading as easy as we can; just click here. Our server handles this version (3.14). If you have upgraded Quake2 beyond our version, Im afraid you will have to reinstall Quake2 and apply our patch.
How do I connect?
I don't have Quake2. Where can I get it?
Most retail software stores have it in stock. You can also buy it from an on-line software supplier such as Egghead Software.
